Mr. Sharkey represents corporations and individuals in business law and civil litigation throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C.
On the transactional side, he counsels companies on formation, sales, acquisitions, commercial transactions, corporate control matters, and retirement plan compliance.
On the litigation side, he represents clients in business, contract, securities, fiduciary duty, negligence, construction, and professional liability disputes.
A trial lawyer who actually tries cases
Mr. Sharkey has tried more than 70 civil cases to verdict and has resolved numerous construction, securities, and commercial disputes through arbitration.
That trial experience pairs with day-to-day business counseling work — a combination that benefits clients across both transactional and litigation matters.
Mr. Sharkey was born in Baltimore in 1968 and grew up in the city. He graduated from the Gilman School, received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Yale University, and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
